Ronald Fleming Obituary

     Ronald Elmer Fleming, 81, of the Town of Sevastopol, passed away Wednesday night, April 4, 2018 at Sturgeon Bay Health Services with family at his side.

     He was born March 12, 1937 in Sturgeon Bay, the son of Elmer L. and Lucille Helen (Curran) Fleming. Ron attended Sturgeon Bay High School and went on to service his country with the United States Air Force from 1956 until 1960. He was united in marriage to Jaroline Ann Christiansen in Kansas City, MO on June 6, 1966.

     Ron was employed with AMC in Kenosha after serving in the Air Force. He was a firefighter at the Great Lakes Naval Station. In 1981, Ron began working for Wisconsin Public Service where he worked in the gas department until his retirement in 1999.

     He was a member of the United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of the Weber-Tess AMVETS Post 51, both in Sturgeon Bay. Ron enjoyed shooting in league with his membership in both, the Gardner and Door County Rod and Gun Clubs. He also liked hunting and going snowmobiling.

     Ron will be missed by his wife, Jaroline; four children, Michelle Lehto of Grand Marais, MN, Steven (Georgia) of Woodstock, IL, Kerry (Kelly) of Sturgeon Bay, and LuAnn (William) Bourdeau of Gladstone, MI; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jayne (Steve) Belongia and Delores Stach, both of Sturgeon Bay.

     He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert (Kay) Fleming; and brother-in-law, Lee Stach.

     Ron’s funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 9, 2018 at the Sturgeon Bay United Methodist Church with Rev. David Leistra officiating. Military Honors by the United States Air Force and the Weber-Tess AMVETS Post 51 will follow at the church. Burial will be in Bayside Cemetery.

     Visitation for family and friends will be held at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:20 a.m.

     Memorials may be given in Ron’s honor for the Alzheimer’s Association.
