Marilyn "Marnie" Koepp Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Marilyn J. Koepp announces her passing on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at the age of 89.

Marilyn, known to friends and loved ones as “Marnie,” was born in Laona, WI in 1928. She was raised in Oregon and Sturgeon Bay. Marnie married William “Buggs” Koepp and together, they owned and operated The Hitching Post restaurant in Whitefish Bay for more than 30 years. She was an avid cook and was known for her fish chowder and desserts. Marnie loved reading cook books, spending time with her dog and cats, watching Western movies and TV shows, listening to the music of Andre Rieu and indulging in anything chocolate (and a glass or two of Moscato wine).

Marnie will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Sue Grovogel and Nancy Dechambre; granddaughter, Jordan (Tony Davis) Dechambre; brother and sister, Gary (Sandy) Cashmore and Laura Mulvey; sister-in-law, Wilda Koepp; and all her nieces and nephews.

Marnie was preceded in death by her mother, Bertha Cashmore; father, Waldo Marr; beloved husband, William “Buggs” Koepp; brother, Keith Marr; and son-in-law, David Grovogel.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Memorial donations in memory of Marnie may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 8th Ave., 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001 or online at https://alzfdn.org/support-us/donate.
