Lou was a generous, thoughtful leader who influenced so many for the better. He made a difference to IABC and the world of communication. I remember his curiosity, kindness and wisdom. And that great booming laugh. Lou lived life with gusto. My deepest condolences to Mary and family.

We feel doubly blessed to have known Lou in two different lives. First, as a colleague and ultimate professional during his career in public relations. Then, up here in his beloved waters and woods of Door County. Karen and I will never forget the times we shared at Peninsula Playhouse and Third Avenue Playhouse. He really loved the theater too and had a great critical eye. Thanks, Mary, for being such a good friend.

Dear Mary,
I feel so fortunate to have seen you and Lou in Washington last June. Lou was one of those unforgettable characters in life -- wise, charismatic and accomplished. It was a privilege to know him and I send heartfelt condolences to you and all the family.

I learned a lot from Lou, as did many, and enjoyed some high volume social events with him. From his love of family and fully lived life through flying, sailing and wine, to the tremendous success of his business and his major contributions of knowledge and leadership to the International Association of Business Communicators and the communication field, Lou left the world a better place. I salute and thank him and mourn his passing, with my thoughts for his family at this sad time, with much to celebrate in a life well lived.

Lou founded L.C. Williams & Associates because he wanted to make a difference in the public relations industry – and he did. His influence at our firm goes far beyond his name on the front door. All of us at LCWA will continue to pursue his vision and honor his legacy. He certainly will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mary and the entire family.

Lou was one of a kind. He had a great laugh & smile & was generous with both. Those who were included in that laughter felt included in all that he did. Lou is my cousin & after 40 some years of being apart we became so much stronger in life & love in these last years, as if we hadn't ever been apart. Lou will continue influencing my life till the day I will join him and we will begin to laugh once more
