Lorraine Selma Rotter, 93, of Sturgeon Bay, was called Home to be with the Lord, late Sunday night, March 18, 2018 at Sturgeon Bay Health Services with family at her side.
She was born at home in Bonduel on June 9, 1924, the daughter of the late William Heinrich Christian Rotter and Ella (Christiansen) Rotter. Lorraine attended St. Paul Lutheran Grade School and graduated from Bonduel High School in 1942. She lived a life of service, helping as a housekeeper for elderly community members in Bonduel and also with babysitting for families. Lorraine eventually moved to Sturgeon Bay where some of her relatives were living, and she continued babysitting for families there as well. She had been a resident at Sturgeon Bay Health Services (formerly Golden Living Center – Dorchester) since 2013.
Lorraine attended St. Paul Lutheran Church (LCMS) while living in Bonduel and then Prince of Peace Lutheran Church (LCMS) upon moving to Sturgeon Bay. She was currently of member of St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church (WELS) where her nephew, Pastor Roger Falk was also a member. Lorraine was an excellent canasta player and enjoyed playing with other family.
She is survived by her loving family: three nephews and niece, Pastor Roger Falk of Sturgeon Bay, Kenneth Falk of Ellison Bay, Thomas Falk of Manawa, and Francine Falk of Neenah; great-nieces and great-nephews; and close friends, Diane Gill and Darrel Gill, both of Sturgeon Bay.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents; (infant) twin sister, brother, William Rotter; nephew, Richard Falk; and close friend, Sharon Gill.
Her life will be honored with a memorial service held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay with Pastor Joel Sauer officiating. Lorraine will be laid to rest near family in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Bonduel.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church on Saturday, April 7, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
A heartfelt thanks goes out to the nursing home staff, her family, Carol Williams and Kristen Demarinis, and all those who provided loving care for Lorraine.
