June Schmidt

     June Schmidt, 84, of Crandon, passed away early Saturday morning, April 1, 2017 at her daughter’s home in Sturgeon Bay, under the care of her family and Unity Hospice.

     She was born on July 6, 1932 in Crandon to Joseph Zakzeski and Hattie Rowe. June was united in marriage to Bruce Schmidt on September 26, 1953 in Crandon. He preceded her in death in 1983. Together, they farmed and raised their family. June enjoyed knitting, embroidering, bird watching, and flower gardening.

     She will be missed by her eight children: Janice Angello of Largo, FL, Carl (Debbie) of Brussels, Hans of Brussels, Roderick (Lolita) of Milwaukee, Lorna (Mike) Bahr of Sturgeon Bay, Kevin (Christie) of Argonne, Robin (Kirsten of Marshfield, and Linda (Dave) Norton of Green Bay. June is further survived by many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and her special kitty, Africa.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Arliss; and baby sister, Norma Jean.

     Funeral services for June will be held on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Crandon with Rev. Richard Rogers officiating. June will be laid to rest in Crandon Lakeside Cemetery.

     Visitation will be held at the church, Thursday morning, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.
