Julie Ann (Meyer) Peil

     Julie Ann (Meyer) Peil, 72, of Baileys Harbor, died Monday morning, December 2, 2019 of a bone marrow disease, surrounded by her family at home. 

     She was born September 13, 1947 in Sturgeon Bay, the daughter of Henry and Irene (Ahrens) Meyer. Julie graduated from Gibraltar High School in 1965. On August 27, 1966, she was united in marriage to Gerald “Jerry” Peil at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Baileys Harbor. 

     Julie worked at the Milwaukee Shoe Co. in Sturgeon Bay and helped her husband, Jerry, with bookwork for his roofing company. Later, Julie and Jerry managed Ephraim Condominiums. They owned and operated Port Peddler Antiques in Jacksonport before retiring. 

     Julie loved collecting antiques and refinishing them, spending time with family, reading, and sewing. Julie and Jerry enjoyed spending winters in Lake Havasu City, AZ. She was loved by anyone who knew her. 

     Julie will be missed every day by her husband, Jerry, with whom she shared 53 loving years of marriage; two children, Jeremy (Kristen Turk) Peil of Sister Bay, and Jamee Peil of Madison; and mother, Irene Meyer of Baileys Harbor; other relatives; and friends. 

     She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Meyer; and other relatives. 

     Honoring Julie's wishes, there will be no funeral or visitation.
