John "Jack" Hawkey Obituary

     John “Jack” Hawkey, 82, of the Town of Clay Banks, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, July 7, 2019.

     He was born May 27, 1937 in Ellison Bay. John married Patricia Sorenson on October 18, 1958 at the Tanum Church.  He worked at the Algoma Plywood his entire career.  John enjoyed gardening, mowing lawn, blowing snow, feeding the birds, and working in his shed.

     John will be missed by his loving wife, Pat; sons, David (Linda) Hawkey and Bruce (Brenda) Hawkey; daughter, Terri (David) DeNamur; grandchildren, Derik, Kirsten, Megan, Trevor, and Jared; sister-in-law, Carol (Lee) Uecker and their children.

     John was preceded in death by his mother; son, Kevin (1980); in-laws; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

     John’s life will be honored with a memorial service on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Tanum Forest Evangelical Lutheran Church in Vignes with Pastor Peter Mannoja officiating.  He will be laid to rest in the church cemetery.

     Visitation for family and friends will take place from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.

     John’s family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you for the wonderful care given to him by the staff at Anna’s Healthcare and Unity Hospice and to Pastor Peter Mannoja for visiting John.
