John W. Wolfert

     John W. Wolfert, 79, of Algoma, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Friday, May 10, 2019 surrounded by family.

     John was born on January 21, 1940 in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. He is preceded in death by his mother, Adina (Braunsdorf) Wolfert and father, William Wolfert. Survived by his four children, Pascale Ardaman, Karri Zarzana, Kristin (Wolfert) Newlun, and William Wolfert; two sisters, Johanna (Lorenz) Busch and Audrey Wolfert; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

     Following high school, John proudly joined the United States Army, taking his final position with the United States Air Force before retiring out of the 440th after 20 years of service, proudly earning the rank of TSgt (Technical Sergeant). Following his retirement from the United States Air Force, John’s passion for machines and mechanics lead him to pursue his next career as a machinist where he enjoyed taking part in the manufacture and production of large diesel engines and mining equipment. After many years as a machinist, he retired and moved back to his hometown in Algoma, Wisconsin from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

     John was a devoted father, a loving grandpa, and enjoyed his pass time restoring and modifying John Deer tractors and automobiles. He leaves behind many cherished memories and will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all of those who were blessed to know him.

     Visitation for all, will be held at 12:00 noon, with funeral services to follow at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Huehns Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin.
