James “Jimmy” William Baudhuin, 66, was called to his eternal home in Heaven on Thursday, March 15, 2018 while at his home in Cadott, WI.
Jimmy was born September 21, 1951 in Sturgeon Bay to William “Bill” and Marion (Haberli) Baudhuin. He spent most of his life in Chippewa Falls and Cadott. Jimmy was most happy when going for a car ride, while eating ice cream, or sitting on the sun porch watching the activities around him.
He is survived by his parents, Bill and Marion; sisters, Mary (Keith) Bink, Diane (Dan) Isings, Patti (Mark) Dines, Barbara (Bob) Wagner, and brother, Robert (Linnea) Baudhuin. Jimmy is further survived by nieces, Gretchen, Rachel, Jennifer, Myjken, Candance, Grace, Ellie, Anna, Kelly and Melissa and nephews, Willy, Jason, Robert, and Matthew; great-nieces, Reagen, Teagen and Skylin and great-nephews, Tryston and Everett; as well as a very special aunt, Sister Ruth Baudhuin and many other aunts, uncles; and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sylvan and Marie Baudhuin and Arnold and Mary Haberli; and a special great-niece, Elsie.
Jimmy’s life will be honored with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 110 N. 5th Ave., Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235 with Fr. Robert Stegmann as celebrant. He will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
During Jimmy’s life, he was blessed to have many very special caregivers. Our family is most appreciative of the owners and staff of JLH Enterprises Adult Family Home for the many years they provided exceptional care to Jimmy and most recently REM Wisconsin. Huehns Funeral Home and family of Sturgeon Bay assisted our family, and we are grateful for the compassion offered to our family during this difficult time.
Expressions of sympathy and memories of Jimmy may be shared with his family through his tribute page at www.huehnsfuneralhome.com.
Jimmy will always be remembered by his family as
Heaven’s Very Special Child
A meeting was held quite far from Earth.
“It's time again for another birth,”
Said the Angels to the Lord above.
“This Special Child will need much love.
His progress may be very slow,
Accomplishments he may not show.
And he'll require extra care
From the folks he meets down there.
He may not run or laugh or play,
His thoughts may seem quite far away,
In many ways he won't adapt,
And he'll be known as handicapped.
So let's be careful where he's sent,
We want his life to be content.
Please Lord, find the parents who
Will do a special job for you.”
They will not realize right away
The leading role they're asked to play,
But with this child sent from above
Comes stronger faith and richer love.
And soon they'll know the privilege given
In caring for their gift from Heaven.
Their precious charge, so meek and mild,
Is Heaven’s very special child.
