Helen Jane Brauer, 89, of the Town of Sevastopol, passed away at home early Wednesday morning, February 7, 2018.

She was born December 8, 1928 to the late John “Jack” Strahan and Helen “Pearl” (Maples) Strahan. Helen graduated from Sevastopol High School in 1946. She was united in marriage to Leonard Joseph Brauer on September 24, 1949 at Saints Peter and Paul Parish in Institute where she remained a lifelong member.      Helen enjoyed being with people and worked at the "By-Way" in Sturgeon Bay, "Kerscher's Superette" in Valmy, and at the "The Farm." Above all, she took care of family and home.

Her love will live on in the hearts of her family, and she will be deeply missed by her four sons and two daughters, Jim (Linda) Brauer of Sevastopol, Joe (Mary) Brauer of Rhinelander, Jane (Jim) Frisch of Brown Deer, Joy (Tom) Schram of Wichita, KS, Jeff Brauer, and Jay (Karen) Brauer, both of Sevastopol; thirteen grandchildren, Lori (Scott) Muench, Polly Brauer, Greg Brauer, and Kelly (Jason) Phelps, Bridget Oettinger, Jen (Jeremiah) Johnson, and Jesse (Matt Schmidt) Brauer, James Frisch, Meghan (Van Thanh Dao) Frisch, and Eric (Elizabeth) Frisch, Christopher Schram, and Claire and Grace Brauer; nine great-grandchildren, and many friends.

Helen is now reunited with her husband, Lenny; son, Leonard Gerard; and sister, Jean Graf.

Her life will be honored with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 19, 2018 at Saints Peter and Paul Parish in Institute with Fr. Robert Stegmann as celebrant. Helen will be laid to rest in the church cemetery beside her husband, Lenny.
