Dorothy V. Anderson, 90, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away peacefully at Angel’s Touch Assisted Living in De Pere on Friday, November 23, 2018 with family at her side.
She was born June 23, 1928 in Sturgeon Bay, the daughter of the late Walter and Hattie (Olson) Bohler. Dorothy graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School in 1946. On November 29, 1952, she married Gordon “Gordy” S. Anderson at Bay View Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay.
Dorothy was a member of the Sons of Norway, Bay View Lutheran Church, taught Sunday school, and participated in the Ladies Aid and many activities at church. She loved reading gardening, square dancing club with Gordy, baking, and her dogs.
She is survived by her four children, Gary of Sturgeon Bay; Nancy of Green Bay, Jim, John (Deb) of Appleton; two brothers, Wallace Bohler and Don (Vi) Bohler; sister-in-law, Joyce Anderson; and nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, June (Walter) Propsom; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Bohler; god-daughter, Cindy Propsom; nephews, David Propsom and Clayton Bohler; the Anderson in-laws, Earl (Margie), Dale, and Glen (Beverly); and nieces, Diane and Glenna.
Her life will be honored with a memorial service held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Bay View Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay with Rev. Tim Malek officiating. Burial will be in Bayside Cemetery, by her husband, Gordy.
Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service.
Memorials may be given in Dorothy’s memory to Bay View Lutheran Church and the Alzheimer’s Association.
