Timothy Bletcher Obituary

Timothy John Bletcher, 66, of the Town of Sevastopol, passed away on Friday morning, November 27, 2020 at the Door County Medical Center in Sturgeon Bay.

He was born March 26, 1954 in Milwaukee, son of the late Edgar George and Jennie Florence (Murphy) Bletcher. Tim graduated from James Madison High School in Milwaukee with the Class of 1972. While growing up and after high school, he worked for Schwister Ford. He was an award-winning mechanic, lover of all motor vehicles, and was jokingly known as, “Timmy the Tool Man”. Then, Tim worked as a bus driver for ten years at Joy Farm Transportation. He began his career as a certified water operator for the Village of Sussex, where he worked for over 21 years until he fulfilled his dream and retired to Door County in 2014. Tim then worked as a bus driver for the Sevastopol School District for six years. He also worked for the Town of Jacksonport as a maintenance technician. Tim was truly a jack-of-all-trades, who could fix just about anything, other than the food he burnt on the grill. On May 4, 1996, Tim and Claire Jean (DeStaercke) were united in marriage by his father, Rev. Edgar G. Bletcher, at their home in Sussex. The two were members of West Granville Presbyterian Church. Tim was a dog lover, specifically his St. Bernard and Miniature Schnauzer breeds. He enjoyed traveling throughout Wisconsin with his family, camping, and boating. He made sure to never miss a 4th of July parade or firework display. Tim was an outgoing, fun-loving guy who made a friend everywhere he went and always captivated people with his jokes and stories.

Tim will be missed by his loving wife of 24 years, Claire; daughters, Jennie (Casey) Patrick of De Pere, Amanda (Kevin) Rasmussen of De Pere, and Emily (Tom) Heidemann of Grafton; grandchildren, Olivia and Mason Patrick, Zach and Ethan Rasmussen, and Kaylee and Piper Heidemann; sister, Lois (Rob) Pearson; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Edgar G. and Jennie Bletcher.

A Memorial Service will be held via Zoom on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. with Rev. Dee M. Anderson of West Granville Presbyterian Church officiating.
