Glenn Larson Obituary

Glenn Roger Larson, 85, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.

He was born November 3, 1934 in Sturgeon Bay, the son of the late Lincoln and Mathilda (Peschel) Larson. After graduating from Sturgeon Bay High School, he enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country for three years before his honorable discharge in 1959. He met Gertrude “Trudy” Ann Powel while he was serving in Germany and on February 21, 1958, they were united in marriage in Munich. Glenn worked as the tool room manager at Bay Shipbuilding for many years and in his retirement, he worked as a produce manager at Red Owl and Super Valu, all in Sturgeon Bay. Glenn was a loving family man with a well-developed sense of humor. He was a master of all and jack of all trades, making him the hardworking, handyman many knew him as.

Glenn will be missed by his sons, Dave (Kathy) of Nipomo, California and Jim (Rose) of Bay City, Texas; grandchildren, Candice (Ryan), Kristal (Marshall), Anne-Marie (Brandon), Rachelle, and Rylee; great-grandchildren, Cain, Oliver, Godrick, Fenix, Perrin, Clementine, and Holden; sister, June Larson; and caregiver/friend, Ellie Stiles (and her son, Shayne DeGrave).

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, “Trudy”; sisters, Hazel Larson and Delores Evenson; and brother, Doug Larson.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Huehns Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay with Rev. Dr. Matthew R. Knapp, Sr. of Sturgeon Bay Moravian Church, officiating. Military honors by the United States Army and the Weber-Tess AMVETS Post 51 will follow at the funeral home.

Visitation for family and friends will held at Huehns Funeral Home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.

“Our family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you St. Vincent Hospital, Unity Hospice, Anna’s Healthcare, and Ellie Stiles for taking such excellent care of Glenn.”
