David Tollefson Obituary

David A. Tollefson, 69, of Sturgeon Bay passed away on March 20, 2023, at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay.

He was born on August 7, 1953, to Arthur and Rita (Moeller) Tollefson in Sturgeon Bay.

Dave started working at a young age for his parents who owned a cherry orchard. He graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School. Dave then went on to work in the shipyards and as a parts salesman at numerous auto parts stores in Sturgeon Bay and Green Bay. He was also the Green Bay Press Gazette delivery person in Northern Door for numerous years.

Dave enjoyed watching and listening to the lake freighters and following the S.S. Badger--every year there was at least one trip on the Badger. He was a huge fan of the band Lynyrd Skynyrd and attended dozens of their concerts throughout the Midwest.

He is survived by his significant other for the past 28 years, Holly Bridenhagen. He is further survived by numerous friends and family members.

Preceding him in death are his parents and other family, as well as, his Pekingese dogs, Aria and Chessie.

Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside committal service at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 23, 2023 at S.S. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Institute with Fr. Robert Stegmann officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be very much appreciated to help defray expenses at this time. Please send to Holly Bridenhagen at 805 W. Elm Street, Sturgeon Bay or to Huehns Funeral Home.

“Dave, you may have left this world, but you will never leave my heart.”
