I'm sorry for your loss.. But know that God will "surround and comfort you" at this sad time. Look forward to seeing your loved one again in the resurrection. Psalm 71:21.

Jeanette, So sorry to hear about Sam. Found out about this from facebook.
It's been awhile since we've seen you. Will always remember how he loved to dance
at the Lake Templene Christmas parties. Dale would be the DJ and play "Radar Love" by Golden Earring & Sam would be dancing to that fast Rock n Roll song...good memories.
You're in our thoughts & prayers. With deepest sympathy, Dale & Linda Goss

I just completed reading a book that made the suggestion that the meaning of life is the legacy that you leave behind. In the years that I have had the pleasure of being a part of this family, I have learned much about the legacy that Sam created throughout his lifetime. I am very glad that I was able to spend time with Sam during the creation of his legacy, so that I can now pass this on to his great grandson myself.

Sam's legacy can been seen throughout all of the members of his family. From his love of fishing, to his love of music, and the love of his family overall. He never missed an opportunity to make sure that everyone around him knew how much he loved each any every member of his family.

It was an honor and a pleasure to know Sam and an even bigger honor that I can be a part of his legacy living on through my son, my wife, and through myself. My deepest condolences go out to Jeanette, Denice, Steve, Pat, Debbie and their families.

I am extremely lucky to be able to say that I knew Sam, and that he was my friend, the impact that he had on everyone that he met cannot be overstated. He made an impact on me the moment when we met because he immediately made me feel like family. His kindness, amazing smile and sense of humor, and love that he shared with the world was so special. I remember playing dice and card games with him and laughing until my stomach hurt and will always hold onto those memories. The world was made better and brighter because of Sam, and the communities and children that he helped as a mentor and youth sports coach were so lucky to have him. As anyone who knew him knows, he loved his Frank Sinatra and I can still see him in my mind singing and dancing to his favorite songs. Whenever I hear that music I will ALWAYS think of him and smile.
Love and miss you Sam

- Peter

I was very fortunate to have 27 beautiful years with Papa. He was not only my grandfather but one of my best friends. I find solace in the fact that I know he lives on in his children and grandchildren. I am a better person because I knew him, and I hope to live my life as beautifully and compassionately as he did. I hold close to my heart a lifetime of memories and laughter that I got to share with one of most incredible human beings I have ever met.

My memories will last a lifetime and every time I miss him I know I can turn on some Frank Sinatra and feel his presence. Without my Papa in my life, these last 27 years would have been a little less bright, entertaining, and wonderful. I will forever feel him in my heart and mind.

We will all miss our Papa dearly and have so many amazing memories with him. Ashley will always cherish how papa taught her how to fish, instilled a love of music in her (especially Sinatra), and most of all the quiet times as a lil girl cuddling with her grandpa on the couch. He always made sure through his actions and words that we all knew how much he loved us and continued to remind us of this even while he slipped deeper into his disease. I can still hear him saying to me, "You know how much I love you right?"

Mike and Ashley look forward to teaching his great-grandson Jake all about what an amazing great-grandfather he had.

We love his amazing children Denice, Steve, Debbie & Pat dearly and his inspirational wife Jeanette (grandma) more than anything and think about you all often through this difficult time as you are all a reflection of what a great legacy he leaves behind. Hugs and kisses 😘
