Rosemarie Evelyn Capak

December 6, 1926 ~ February 21, 2017 (age 90) 90 Years Old


     Rosemarie Evelyn Capak, 90, former lifelong resident of Cudahy, recently of Valmy (Sturgeon Bay), fell asleep in the loving arms of her family and awoke in the arms of the Lord, Tuesday afternoon, February 21, 2017 while at Door County Medical Center in Sturgeon Bay, following a recent illness.

     She was born at home on Packard Avenue in Cudahy, the daughter of Kalman and Frances (Dobrzynski) Palkowitz. Rosemarie graduated from Cudahy High School in 1945. She grew up attending St. Joseph Parish and later St. Frederick Parish (which both combined with Holy Family Parish to form Nativity of the Lord Parish on July 1, 2000), all in Cudahy. Rosemarie was united in marriage to John Capak, Jr. in Cudahy. John passed away in 1976.

     Rosemarie’s primary employment was with Allen-Bradley in Milwaukee for over 25 years.

     She enjoyed bowling in leagues at the Cudahy Bowling Center (CBC), golfing, and traveling, especially out west to California.

     Rosemarie’s love will live on in the hearts of her four nieces and two nephews, Virginia Fixel of Brookfield, Rose Marie (Jerry) Betker of Clermont, FL, Bunny (John) Hagen of Valmy, Ronald (Sandy) Palkowitz of Oconomowoc, Stanley Palkowitz of Wisconsin, and Judy (Lou) Geracie of Cudahy, WI; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

     She was reunited with her parents; husband; seven siblings, William, Alvina, John, Stanley, Alex, and Frank Palkowitz, and Mary Wiza; nephew, Anthony Wiza, and other nieces and nephews.

     Rosemarie’s life will be honored with a memorial Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday morning, March 2, 2017 at Nativity of the Lord Catholic Church, 3672 E. Plankinton Ave., Cudahy, WI 53110 with Fr. Philip Schumaker as celebrant. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Cudahy, beside her husband, John.

     ***There will be no scheduled visitation at the church prior to the Mass.***

     A heartfelt thanks goes out to Rosemarie’s great-nieces, Peggy Gruenke, Elizabeth Snell, and Emily Kron for the care they gave to Rosemarie, and a very special thanks goes out to her great-nephew, John Joseph Hagen, whom she thought of like a son and took care of everyday for 14 years, for the loving care he returned to her these final years.
