     Robert “Chip” Parmentier, 74, of Sturgeon Bay, died Thursday, December 1, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.

     He was born January 1, 1942 in Ohio, the son of Jules and Roberta (McCormick) Parmentier. Robert was graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School in 1960. Chip attended MSOE school of engineering in Milwaukee before serving his country four years in the United States Air Force. He had worked for his father at Martin Orchard, then as a mechanic at Sturgeon Bay Sand and Gravel in Sturgeon Bay and more recently at Parent Construction in Baileys Harbor until his retirement. On August 1, 1970, he married Betty Lou Hayes in Boise, Idaho.

     Chip was an excellent mechanic, a master mechanic, who was gifted with artistic talents he used as a metal sculpturist. He was an animal lover and enjoyed many pets over the years. Another passion he had was as a model plane aviator and was an active flyer and member in the Bay Flyers of Door County and other Door County clubs. He appreciated and collected Native American Art. Chip also built cars, hot rods in particular, along with custom motorcycles and choppers.

     He is survived by his sister, Leslie Hagmann; brother, Jules F. Parmentier of Sturgeon Bay; nieces and nephews, Jules J. (Ashley) Parmentier and Hayley Parmentier, and Ashley (Eric) Cooley and Laird (Andrea) Hagmann.

     Chip was preceded in death by his parents, Jules and Roberta Parmentier; and his wife, Betty L. Parmentier (2015).

     Interment was made at Bayside Cemetery.
