May 20, 1946 ~ April 30, 2017 (age 70) 70 Years Old

Judith “Judy” M. Anschutz, 70, of Jacksonport, was called home Sunday evening, April 30, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay with her family at her side.

She was born May 20, 1946 in Sturgeon Bay, the daughter of the late John “Sparky” and Laurine (Wilquet) Vogel. Judy graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School in 1964. On August 16, 1964 in Rockford, Illinois she married Larry Anschutz. After living in Rockford for a few years, they moved back to Sturgeon Bay and she waitressed for The Pal Dora, now Mr. G’s, before working for Doer Electric then Emerson Motors as a precision motor assembler for the railway track switch motors used nationally. Judy worked for Emerson for 27 years. More recently, Judy had been working at Bay Breeze Resort in Ephraim.

She was an active member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Jacksonport (now Stella Maris Parish-Jacksonport site) for many years. Judy served as a reader of the liturgy at Mass, taught Catechism, and volunteered for the many church functions and funeral dinners provided at the church.

She was an active, lively woman, always moving and on the go. Judy loved shopping, and dancing. She was a devoted family woman, helped with her children’s activities and 4-H when they were growing up. No one had anything negative to say about her, and when you were in her presence you would see her contagious smile, feel her energy, and understand that lively personality that would endear her to you.

Her family includes her husband, Larry; three children, Gary (Jessica Kaiver) Anschutz of Sturgeon Bay, Kevin Anschutz of Jacksonport, Lori (friend, Glen Thorn) of Appleton; granddaughter, Lindsey (fiancé, Jessie Breaker) Kroubetz of Appleton; two brothers, Robert Vogel, John Vogel, both of Sturgeon Bay; and sister, Jean (Mark) Vangrinsven of Appleton.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, John “Sparky” and Laurine Vogel; brother, Darold Vogel; and her sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie (Roger) Johnson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 5, 2017 at Stella Maris Parish-Baileys Harbor site with Fr. David Ruby officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery in Jacksonport.

Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Huehns Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay with a parish wake service to be held at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church, Friday morning, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.

Memorials may be directed in her memory for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or The National Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help at Champion, Wisconsin.

Our family would like to extend a special thank you to Nurse Linda and the staff at St. Vincent’s ICU for their kind care shown to our mother.

Expressions of sympathy, memories, and photos of Judy may be shared with her family through her tribute page at www.huehnsfuneralhome.com.
