Joshua J. DuBois

August 11, 2017

Joshua J. DuBois, 41, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away Friday, August 11, 2017 unexpectedly at home. He was the son of James and Sandra DuBois.

He attended Southern Door High School where he enjoyed being part of the wrestling team. He later went on to obtain his HSED. Josh then went on and received his welding certification from Moraine Park Technical College. He had worked at restaurants throughout Door County and was a highly skilled waiter and bartender. Josh had worked on various fishing charter services and presently was 1st Mate employed with RV Charters out of Algoma. He enjoyed fishing daily with his captain Neil Sealy.

On August 15, 2016, he married the love of his life, Stephanie Ann Gunnlaugsson, at her mother’s home in Sturgeon Bay. They had been together these past six years. Together, they enjoyed camping, bonfires, their dog Pugsley, cats Goober, Simba, Smokey, and Jas (Josh And Steph). They loved date night together and bowling. Josh had just taken up golfing again with his step-son, Montana. He was a kind, gentle soul who loved the outdoors, being on the water or in the woods, and bowhunting. Josh was all in as a Packer fan and loved harassing Stephanie about being a Bears fan.

He will be deeply missed by his wife and the love of his life, Stephanie (Gunnlaugsson) DuBois; three step-children, Hunter, Montana, and Aspen Gunnlaugsson, all of Sturgeon Bay; two sons, Kolten DuBois and Kody Wipperfurth, both of Green Bay; parents, James and Sandra DuBois of Sturgeon Bay; brothers and sisters; Vern DuBois of Johnson Creek, John (Donna) DuBois, Donna DuBois, Nicole “Nikki” DuBois, Dallas DuBois, all of Sturgeon Bay, Maurice “Moe” DuBois, Phil (Elizabeth) DuBois, Robert DuBois, all of Appleton, Shane DuBois of Colorado, James (Jen) DuBois of Mineral Creek, Travis DuBois of Chicago, IL, Erin DuBois of Madison, and sister-in-law, Paula DuBois of Harshaw; many nieces and nephews; grandmother, Lillian DuBois of New Franken; in-laws; Amy (Rodrick) Steward, Nicole (Chris) Warwick, both of Sturgeon Bay; and dear friend, Courtney (Austin Vetter) Stenberg (and his grandchildren, Lilly and Liam).

Josh was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Bonnie Warwick; brother, Joe DuBois; and sister-in-law, Amy DuBois.

Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Huehns Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service.
