Gary Andrew “Woody” Wodack, 74, lifelong resident of Sturgeon Bay, passed away at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay and awoke in the arms of the Lord, Tuesday morning, June 20, 2017.

He was born in Door County on January 29, 1943, the son of the late Andrew “Woody” and Dorothy (Waters) Wodack. Gary graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School in 1960. He was united in marriage to Joan Rita Schuster on February 1, 1964 at St. Mary Catholic Church (now Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church) in Maplewood. Gary started out working for Griffin Canning, then Palmer Johnson Yachts for nearly forty years primarily as a paint department foreman, and eventually for Great Lakes Yacht Services as a foreman.

He was a founding member and former secretary/treasurer of the Door Devils Motorcycle Club and helped create their logos and design their jackets. He was an avid participant at the Door County Fair, submitting numerous works of art for competition. Gary loved attending the races at Thunderhill Raceway and had a passion for photography. Above all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

His life will be honored with a funeral service held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Huehns Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay with Pastor Joel Sauer officiating. There will a time for family and friends to share memories and stories of Gary’s life immediately following. Gary will be laid to rest in Bayside Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Huehns Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.

Expressions of sympathy, memories, and photos of Gary may be shared with his family through his tribute page at www.huehnsfuneralhome.com.
