Charles Arthur Richard

     Charles Arthur Richard, 92, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away Monday morning, May 22, 2017 at Anna’s Healthcare CBRF.

     He was born December 28, 1924 in Egg Harbor, the son of Walter F. and Elizabeth (Sarter) Richard and attended school in Egg Harbor. Chuck was united in marriage to Genevieve Jannet Cartwright on May 19, 1945 in Gladstone, MI and were blessed with over 72 years of marriage. Chuck worked as a manager for Horseshoe Bay Farms, semi-retiring in 1986.

     He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Egg Harbor for many years and most recently of St. Joseph Parish in Sturgeon Bay. Chuck was a volunteer for the Egg Harbor Fire Department for many years. He was a former 4-H leader, past PTA president for Sunny Point School in Egg Harbor, and a member of the Egg Harbor Snowmobile Club and master groomer of their trails. He and Gen were very active in the local square dance club.

     Chuck is survived by dear wife, Genevieve; four daughters and three sons, Gary (Ya) Richard, Leland (Beverly) Richard, Nancy Richard, Kim (Russell) Brungraber, Mark (Mary) Richard, Holly Richard, and Amy (Mike) Bauer; eight grandchildren, Tracy, Chad, Chandall, Robin, Matt, Heather, Amthia, and CJ; seven great-grandchildren, Deanna, Colt, Emily, Tyler, Riley, Kyle, and Augustus.

     He was preceded in death by his parents; three grandchildren, August James Richard, Tony Lee Bauer, Sara Marie Bauer; great-grandson, Michael Anthony Lane; seven siblings, Eva Beminghaus, Mike Richard, Hank Richard, Grace Burlo, Ernie Richard, Amanda Dietrich, and Bill Richard.

     Chuck’s life will be honored with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Robert Stegmann as celebrant. He will be laid to rest in Egg Harbor Town Cemetery.

     Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 2017 at Huehns Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay with the rosary to be led by the Catholic Daughters at 3:45 p.m. and a parish wake service with family remembrances to be held at 7:45 p.m. Friday. Visitation will continue at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Saturday morning, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.

     Memorials may be given in Chuck’s memory for Southern Care Hospice.
